A chartered accountant and graduate lawyer, Iain has been the Senior Partner in FC Transport Consultants (and connected and predecessor firms) for over 20 years. Prior to that he worked in industry, including as a director of the UK’s fifth-largest passenger transport operator, which was private-equity backed and highly acquisitive, where Iain was the director in charge of the group’s London bus operations as well as mergers and acquisitions.. Iain has experience both as a principal and as an adviser in a vast number of acquisitions, disposals and privatisations in the passenger transport sector. He has led the post-acquisition integration projects following numerous transport company deals and worked extensively on franchise and tender bids in bus, rail and metro in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, where his experience includes acting as advisor to a listed Kuwaiti transport company and as an advisor to NASCO, which is part of the Kuwait Investment Office.
Iain has also served as a student mentor on business planning, venture capital, structured finance and mergers and acquisitions on the award-winning Alliance Manchester Business School international MBA program.
Iain has extensive contacts throughout the passenger ground transport industry, including a network of independent transport professionals who work on FC Transport Consultants’ projects.
Ben trained as an accountant with an independent firm of accountants and taxation advisers. In 2014 Ben joined FC to work principally in corporate finance where he qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2017. Now a partner in FC, Ben has a range of corporate finance skills and experience in business disposals, MBO, MBI, due diligence, acquisition integration, venture capital and acquisition finance, business valuations, business turnaround and rescue and business planning. He has worked with Iain on numerous assignments in passenger transport.
